Each overnight has a practical role in the journey, balancing time in the landscape with the transfers needed to move between places. There is room to personalise the pace before booking: a longer stay in one area, a different room style, more time for photography or an island extension. Activities that need separate arrangements are added explicitly, so that the final plan remains clear about what is included.

Arusha to the Serengeti
Set out early from Arusha for the drive through the northern highlands to the Serengeti. Allow a full travel day, with stops along the way and wildlife viewing as you approach the lodge. Flights can be proposed as a separately quoted alternative.
The Serengeti rewards patience as much as distance. Your guide can work with the light, habitat and wildlife activity, allowing time to watch a sighting rather than rush immediately to the next one. Seasonal herd movements remain variable, so the day is planned around what is happening locally. The day closes at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, with the meal basis shown in the programme.

A day on the plains
Head out with your guide to explore the Serengeti’s changing habitats. Your route responds to local conditions and wildlife activity, with time for a picnic or a return to camp between drives.

One last look at the plains
Leave the Serengeti after breakfast and travel by road towards Arusha. This is a long transfer day; onward international connections should be planned around a confirmed arrival time or an additional night in Arusha.
The final day is planned around a comfortable connection rather than one more rushed activity. Confirm the departure point and allow for the transfer specified in the itinerary. If you have an international flight, your specialist will check whether an additional night is the more practical option before the travel programme is finalised.

Transport, luggage and flight connections+
Road transfers and any domestic flights are identified in the quotation. Check the actual baggage rules of each carrier before packing, particularly on small-aircraft connections. International flights are not assumed to be included.
