Good questions.
Thoughtful answers.
Practical answers to help you plan a private Tanzania journey. Your final proposal confirms the arrangements for the actual booking.
Your guide, at a glance.
01
Planning your journey.
Are these fixed group departures?
The itineraries are starting points for private travel. Dates, stays and the pace can be discussed before you confirm. A mountain route needs a suitable guide-led structure, rather than simply removing walking or acclimatisation days.
How long should a safari be?
That depends on the places and the pace you want. A short itinerary works best with fewer destinations. Longer journeys create room for more varied landscapes, rest days and comfortable connections.
Can we add Zanzibar?
Yes, when the route and available connections work. The proposal should show the domestic flight or transfer, chosen coast and hotel nights as part of the same journey.
02
Pricing and booking.
Why is the price personalised?
Travel dates, party size, room categories, transport and activities all affect the quotation. A named room category and a clear list of services are more useful than a headline price that does not match your booking.
What is included?
Read the itinerary’s inclusions and exclusions, then check the written proposal. It identifies meals, stays, park arrangements, transfers and any flights or optional experiences included for your dates.
What are the payment and cancellation terms?
The terms applying to the actual services are provided with the booking proposal before payment. Ask for the deadlines, amendment rules and cancellation conditions in writing.
03
Families and room arrangements.
Can children travel on safari?
Many itineraries can be planned for families, but room policies, activities and minimum ages differ. Share children’s ages before choosing the stays so the plan can be checked properly.
Can we have a family room or connecting rooms?
Ask for the precise arrangement to be checked. A property being family-friendly does not guarantee a particular room configuration on your dates.
What if someone has limited mobility?
Share the practical requirements early. Room access, walking distances, vehicle entry and the terrain of activities need to be checked for the specific property and route.
04
Kilimanjaro and active journeys.
How do I compare the routes?
Compare the trail stages, actual days on the mountain, camp or hut accommodation and the complete arrival-to-departure schedule. The headline itinerary length may include hotel nights before and after the climb.
Is reaching the summit guaranteed?
No. The summit is an objective, and the mountain team makes decisions around conditions and the wellbeing of the group. Preparation, the route structure and the guide-led programme all matter.
Is the safari packing list enough for a climb?
No. Ask the mountain team for the equipment list that applies to the route and support arrangements, including what is supplied and any equipment available to hire.
05
Before you travel.
Where should I check entry requirements?
Use the official immigration guidance that applies to your nationality and route. Tanzania’s official eVisa portal is a useful starting point.
Who should advise me about travel health?
Discuss personal medical and travel-health questions with a qualified clinician. Check that insurance covers the activities in your actual itinerary.
Can I send sensitive documents through the enquiry form?
Please do not send passport scans, payment-card details or sensitive documents through a general enquiry. Use the specific secure process agreed when the booking requires additional information.
