THE SHAPE OF YOUR ADVENTURE

Well connected.
Wonderfully yours.

Eleven days including a nine-day northern circuit trek, with a longer approach around Kilimanjaro.

This mountain journey connects the route’s changing landscapes with hotel nights at the beginning and end. The complete duration shown includes the arrival and departure sequence, while the day-by-day plan identifies the actual trail stages. Compare the number of nights and walking days rather than choosing a climb only by its headline length.

The mountain team’s route briefing and current conditions guide the programme. Equipment, support, meals and transport are confirmed in the written quotation. A summit attempt is a shared objective, never a guarantee.

Nine trekking days

A longer approach around Kilimanjaro’s northern slopes.

A different perspective

Cross the Shira Plateau before continuing via Moir and the northern circuit.

The School Hut approach

A summit attempt followed by the southern Mweka descent.

DAY 1
Mount Kilimanjaro

Welcome to Tanzania

Mount Kilimanjaro

Meet your local team and transfer to your accommodation. Settle in, review the days ahead and leave the rest of the afternoon open to rest after your journey.

Keep this first day deliberately simple. Confirm the meeting point and the transfer in advance, then allow time for a journey briefing and any questions about the next morning. The amount of free time depends on the actual arrival, so optional sightseeing should be agreed only once your flight details are known. The day closes at Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat, with the meal basis shown in the programme.

Summit attempt and the southern descent

Mount Kilimanjaro

Start the summit attempt in the early hours if conditions allow. Descend towards Mweka Camp with your guide, adapting the day to the team’s assessment and guest wellbeing.

The mountain team sets the departure time and pace for the summit attempt, with decisions guided by conditions and the wellbeing of the group. Reaching the highest point is not guaranteed. The descent is a substantial part of the same day, so keep the plan focused on the guide-led programme and the overnight camp shown below.

DAY 10
Mount Kilimanjaro

Descend and unwind in Moshi

Mount Kilimanjaro

Complete the descent with your mountain team, then transfer back to Moshi. A hot shower, a proper bed and a relaxed evening bring the mountain chapter to a close.

The descent is still an important walking day, with the pace set by the mountain team and the changing trail conditions. Complete the agreed exit arrangements before continuing to your hotel. A restful evening is a useful part of the plan rather than an afterthought to the climb. The day closes at Tulivu Kilimanjaro Retreat, with the meal basis shown in the programme.

DAY 11
Mount Kilimanjaro

A gentle farewell

Mount Kilimanjaro

Enjoy breakfast before your onward transfer. Departure arrangements will be aligned with your confirmed flight and the route from your final overnight stop.

The final day is planned around a comfortable connection rather than one more rushed activity. Confirm the departure point and allow for the transfer specified in the itinerary. If you have an international flight, your specialist will check whether an additional night is the more practical option before the travel programme is finalised.

Indicative guide price in USD per person, based on two adults sharing. Your final quotation depends on travel dates, party size, accommodation availability, transport and confirmed inclusions. Single-room supplements, optional activities and international flights are additional unless expressly included. The itinerary and named stays are proposals, subject to availability. Summit success is not guaranteed; comprehensive trekking insurance and equipment requirements will be discussed before booking.

How the route and daily timing work+

Your programme balances time exploring with the practical connections between overnight stops. Drive and walking times vary with the route, weather and conditions, so the final briefing confirms each day rather than relying on fixed timings shown months in advance.

    Accommodation, room setup and meals+

Linked stays are shown in the day-by-day plan. Your proposal names the room categories, meal basis and any single-room or family arrangements. A substitute property is discussed if the original choice is unavailable.

A FEW NOTES BEFORE YOU GO

    Your questions.
    A clearer journey.

    Can this itinerary be adapted?
Yes. Use it as a starting point for private travel. We can discuss the number of nights, selected stays and optional experiences before preparing the final route. Mountain routes need to retain an appropriate guide-led structure rather than simply shortening acclimatisation days.
Is there a fixed price or a guaranteed departure?
A personalised quotation is prepared for your actual dates and travel party. The proposal identifies the included services, any supplements and the booking terms before you confirm. The page does not represent a live availability calendar.
