The Northern Safari, Unhurried
Seven days across the northern circuit, with time to appreciate each landscape.

Seven days across the northern circuit, with time to appreciate each landscape.
The route brings Tarangire National Park → Lake Manyara National Park → Serengeti National Park → Ngorongoro Crater into one connected itinerary. Each overnight has a practical role in the journey, balancing time in the landscape with the transfers needed to move between places. Your travel dates, wildlife interests and preferred level of accommodation guide the final selection.
There is room to personalise the pace before booking: a longer stay in one area, a different room style, more time for photography or an island extension. Activities that need separate arrangements are added explicitly, so that the final plan remains clear about what is included.
Four northern parks
Discover Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
Two Serengeti nights
A dedicated full day allows a deeper exploration of the plains.
An easy beginning
Start with an Arusha overnight before heading into the bush.

DAY 1TANZANIA / ARRIVAL & CONNECTIONSWelcome to Tanzania
+
Welcome to Tanzania

Meet your local team and transfer to your accommodation. Settle in, review the days ahead and leave the rest of the afternoon open to rest after your journey.
Keep this first day deliberately simple. Confirm the meeting point and the transfer in advance, then allow time for a journey briefing and any questions about the next morning. The amount of free time depends on the actual arrival, so optional sightseeing should be agreed only once your flight details are known. The day closes at Mount Meru Hotel, with the meal basis shown in the programme.
DAY 2Tarangire National ParkBaobabs and elephant country
+
Baobabs and elephant country

Explore Tarangire’s baobab country on a game drive, following the park tracks towards riverine habitats and open grassland. Continue to your lodge after a picnic lunch, allowing time to settle in before dinner.
Tarangire’s river corridors, baobabs and mixed bush give a drive its changing rhythm. Look beyond the largest animals to birds, tracks and the smaller details your guide can point out. The precise route follows conditions rather than a promised list of sightings. The day closes at Marera Valley Lodge, with the meal basis shown in the programme.
DAY 3Lake Manyara National ParkThe Rift Valley at Manyara
+
The Rift Valley at Manyara

Discover Lake Manyara’s forest and lakeside habitats on a guided game drive. Return to the Karatu highlands with time to relax in the lodge gardens before dinner.
Lake Manyara brings woodland and Rift Valley scenery into the journey. Rainfall and lake levels change the feel of the park, and the drive can focus on habitats and birdlife as well as larger wildlife. Keep expectations open rather than planning around a guaranteed tree-climbing lion sighting. The day closes at Marera Valley Lodge, with the meal basis shown in the programme.
DAY 4Serengeti National ParkInto the Serengeti
+
Into the Serengeti

Travel towards the Serengeti and watch the landscape open into wide plains. Look for wildlife along the route before arriving at your accommodation for dinner and the first evening in the bush.
The Serengeti rewards patience as much as distance. Your guide can work with the light, habitat and wildlife activity, allowing time to watch a sighting rather than rush immediately to the next one. Seasonal herd movements remain variable, so the day is planned around what is happening locally. The day closes at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, with the meal basis shown in the programme.
DAY 5Serengeti National ParkA day on the plains
+
A day on the plains

Head out with your guide to explore the Serengeti’s changing habitats. Your route responds to local conditions and wildlife activity, with time for a picnic or a return to camp between drives.

DAY 6Ngorongoro CraterInto the highlands

Into the highlands

Leave the plains behind and continue to Ngorongoro. The afternoon is reserved for your arrival at the crater rim and a slower evening at the lodge.
The crater is a different landscape from the surrounding highlands, with open grassland, wetland and woodland habitats close together. The daily sequence needs to work with access arrangements and the onward drive, with time allowed for a meal stop and wildlife viewing. The day closes at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, with the meal basis shown in the programme.
DAY 7Ngorongoro CraterInside the Ngorongoro Crater
+
Inside the Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the crater for a game drive across grassland, wetlands and woodland. Enjoy a picnic stop before leaving the crater and returning towards Arusha. Your onward travel arrangements will be planned around the confirmed arrival time.

A little more about the guide price +
Indicative guide price in USD per person, based on two adults sharing. Your final quotation depends on travel dates, party size, accommodation availability, transport and confirmed inclusions. Single-room supplements, optional activities and international flights are additional unless expressly included. The itinerary and named stays are proposals, subject to availability.
How the route and daily timing work+
Your programme balances time exploring with the practical connections between overnight stops. Drive and walking times vary with the route, weather and conditions, so the final briefing confirms each day rather than relying on fixed timings shown months in advance.
Accommodation, room setup and meals+
Linked stays are shown in the day-by-day plan. Your proposal names the room categories, meal basis and any single-room or family arrangements. A substitute property is discussed if the original choice is unavailable.
Transport, luggage and flight connections+
Road transfers and any domestic flights are identified in the quotation. Check the actual baggage rules of each carrier before packing, particularly on small-aircraft connections. International flights are not assumed to be included.
